Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis (GPC)*

GPC (Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis) – is a condition in which the bodies inflammatory/allergic response reacts to the contact lens rubbing against the lid,,protein deposits on contact lens surfaces, and/or chemical preservatives in contact lens cleaning solutions. This response occurs under the upper eyelid, causing that normally smooth surface to become rough and irregular like a cobblestone street. The inflammation can lead to scarring, which could permanently eliminate the possibility of future contact lens use
