What to Expect During Your First Visit

Each of our doctors has their own individual approach to caring for our patients, but all share the same goal – to offer our patients the best eye health care. To start this process, we will need a complete medical history, patient and family, filled out on your new patient form. We will also need a thorough list of any medications you are currently taking and copies of your medical insurance cards. Our technicians will start your examination, performing all necessary tests. The tests performed may vary dependant on your particular needs, prior medical history, or responses. The doctor will be given all test results to go over with you and will continue your examination. Examinations may include dilation of the pupils, fundus photography, visual field testing, corneal topography, glaucoma testing, blood pressure, visual acuities, refraction for determination of glasses prescription, nerve fiber analysis, and color vision testing, to name a few. All of the information you give us and that we find with testing will determine exactly what we need to do to professionally and appropriately customize your care. Dependant on these results, additional visits may be necessary. Prescriptions for glaucoma or other medical problems can also be written at your visit if required. Contact lens examinations are an additional service. Fees, services and testing will vary if you opt to pursue contact lenses.

You can download our new patient form here and have it completed before your first visit.
