Dr. Louis Jison

“My interest in the eye peaked while in medical school as I volunteered my time to help in an outreach program for the visually impaired. I soon realized that vision is one of life’s most important senses. Since then I have devoted my career in medicine and optometry to help patients see better and achieve the highest quality of life possible.”

Dr. Jison received his Doctor of Medicine from St. Luke’s College of Medicine in the Philippines and is licensed and board certified to practice medicine in his native country. His passion for the medical care of the eye has led him to pursue a second doctoral degree – a doctorate in Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry.  Dr. Jison continues to focus part of his time to eye research and has co-authored and published papers on a wide variety of topics in vision science. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Illinois Optometric Association, the West Suburban Optometric Association, the American Academy of Optometry, and the Association of Researchers for Vision and Ophthalmology. Dr. Jison is DPA (Diagnostic) and TPA (Therapeutic) Certified.   Dr. Jison’s practice includes comprehensive eye care for the entire family.  His special interests are in internal medicine and systemic diseases that effect the eye.  Dr. Jison is fluent in English, Spanish, and Filipino (Tagalog and Illonggo).

Dr. Jison and his wife Denise, along with their 3 children, live in Burr Ridge. When not in the clinic, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family. Among his numerous interests are camping, fishing, scuba diving, skiing and golfing. Dr. Jison also enjoys digital photography.

Dr. Jison has office hours in our Downers Grove and Westchester offices.
